Rachel J. Jenks (B.S. Biology, UW-Platteville) is currently a Senior Quality Control Analyst at Illumina, Inc. in Madison. She is a member of the method validation team where she manages and executes projects for QC process improvements in an effort to drive the company to become one of the top 10 protein purification companies in the industry. In this position she has most recently developed and validated a new multiplex nuclease contamination assay capable of unequivocally detecting single-stranded exonuclease, double-stranded exonuclease, endonuclease and RNase in solutions.

Her passion for the biotech industry is what drives her forward. She is interested in moving into a management position, with the ultimate goal of opening her own company. With her professional experience being primarily focused on scientific and quality principles, she believes the M.S. in Biotechnology program will provide her with the business, law, and operations knowledge necessary to fulfill her goals.
