M.S. Biotech description: Greg Emmerich (B.S. Microbiology, Certificate of Business, University of Wisconsin-Madison) presently works as a Manufacturing Technician at Hologic. In this position, he synthesizes custom oligonucleotides and performs subsequent HPLC purification. He also is one of two people responsible for enzyme fermentation and purification. He has taken on a mentorship role for nine new technicians since starting. The Master of Science in Biotechnology is the perfect combination of business and science. He feels the program will launch his career ahead in the biotechnology field and prepare him for an upper level position, such as a project manager.
